How green I am...

The first thing I have to say, is that I'm not green... I'm brown.
(LOL)
(worst joke ever....anyway)

Well, my entire education was in a private with state financing school without environmentally friendly practices. I remember that my school used to use a lot of paper, ink, electric devices, and a big big etcetera.
So, all my environmentally friendly practices I have learned in my Scout troop. with them I learned to:
Recycle.
Use organic garbage as plant fertilizer.
Use energy saving light bulbs.
Turn of the lights when nobody are using them.
Use windows without curtains to take advantage of sunlight.
Avoid wasting water taking short showers.
etc.

Of all this list, I just practice the energy and water saving, but recycling its hard, cause in my home, nobody do anything of that things, nobody save energy, nobody save water, nobody recycle. So, it's like swim against the tite.
I'm a supporter of Greenpeace, i thinks that their job are escential to develop environmental politics.
In order to decrease my carbon footprint, I try to use my Laptop just with the battery, Use Saving light bulbs, and things that I've described before.
I think that Santiago doesn't have enough Environmentally Friendly politics.
The air and sound pollution is really high and we are depending of raining in order to have clean air.
Just the richer communities have this kind of politics.

My Perfect Job

Okay... Let's see...
My perfect job is: Candy Creator and Tester...!!!
Yeah, i think that would be my perfect job, not just because I love candy, but it also I love to eat. Eating is one of my favorite things to do in the whole planet, but dancing always will be the number one.
Anyway, I can imagine myself in this job being like Willy Wonka (from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory), making new flavors, new kind of candies, for example: light candies, candies to diabetic people, candies with real fruits, the biggest candy in the universe, or a mix of candies depending the customers choice.
I think this job can make me travel a lot, ooooh yes, not just because i'll be a candy creator, but it also because I'll be a candy researcher. Traveling country by country researching cultural customs to know things like: taste of their preference, flavors, colors, shape, and how to market the product depending of the purchasing power of each country and the obesity rate, this last two in order to sell low cost candies to poor countries, and "stevia Candies" to fat countries.
I don't like offices, so, I'll have a tree house instead of.

Well, all of this dream is just my Perfect and unreal job.
I'm studying a Bachelor in Artes With Major in Dance. In simple words, I'll be a dancer, or a dance teacher, or a dance researcher, or a dance creator, (AKA choreographer).

MY B.F.F

Well, This time I'll talk about something not real, instead of the reality of who is my best friend...
I met him in 1954, January 5 to be exactly. I remember myself walking down a street in Saint Peter of Atacama, was really late in the night, almost midnight. That night was really special, those beautiful and clear skies, full of stars and marihuana smoke make me think in the book of a chilean writer, Enrique Barrios, the name of this tale is "Ami, el niño de las estrellas"... In the middle of that thinking, I saw in the sky a really bright and shiny light getting close to my tent (yes, I was camping there), I ran to my place to see what was it, but the light suddenly start to bright more, more and more, and suddenly, disappear.
When I arrived to the camping, there wasn't nobody, I walk a couple of steps just to realize that my tent was burning and full of smoke. I said to myself OHHH MYYY GOOOOD!!! ("·%·$%&"·$%) I ran faster just to try to turn off the fire, but every effort would be worthless, all my things were gone. I got close, and saw a kind of machine, it seems like a starship.

PFFFFFFFFF... was the sound of the ship, a door starts to open, but nobody was inside, I thought, were is the astronaut? I was wondering to myself that, when somebody tapped my shoulder. I jumped like I frog, I was surprised/scared.

Next to me was a kid, with human form and a kind smile, I ask him "where is your mom" and he answered, "my mom is like, 30000000 lightyears from here"
So kid,  What is your name?, "you can not able to pronounce my name, because has sounds are not present in your language" After that moment, I knew that everything in my life would going to be different.
He invites to me to see the sun, and a thousand of planets, he was able to control the time, and we visited the past of our planet, I saw dinosaurs and the first humans on earth. I met his people, and I realize that we are not alone on the universe.
He is my best friend, because he never put a condition to share, love and spend time together, he thought to me the value of friendship and empathy.

We are friends from that day (January 5 of 1954) till today 61 years, sometimes he comes to visit me, and we ride the stars together.
The best memory that we have together was the day that we stays in Jupiter for two days, we get lost inside the stain of Jupiter. Was amazing to see how the people of his planet went to rescue us.

thats it...!!!

A Really Special Time...!

Okay Guys!!!!
How are you?? I hope that you're having a great time whatever you're doing...!!!
Today, I'll talk about one of my greatest day in my whole life..
But you may asking yourself... and what is that day?
The day that I started my dance-vacations in Washington D.C.
I remember that I worked hard (very hard), all the year to earn enough money to travel there. The only thing that I was sure of have, was the place to stay, and the place to get dance classes.

Mmmmm, well I really think that it's not just a day, I think that was all the time being there.

SOOOOOO...

January 26 of 2015, taking the flight, saying goodbye to mom, dad, and my brothers...

My baggage, in addition to have clothes, was full of expectations, energy and the motivation to know everything, to dance and do whatever that I could during that time, all of this with one goal: getting better as a dancer and human being.
Of that moment, participate and share with me: Felipe Oyarzun, a friend of mine that I knew in a really difficult moment of my life, we don't talk a lot like a time ago, but we still having almost the same feelings of friendship and partnership that we always have. He gave me a place to stay and free classes in Joy of Motion Dance Studio, and a free training with Dana Tai Soon Burguess & co.
My entire family, they have been always a big support for me and my crazyness.
Leah Flamm, a dancer and really good friend that I knew there, the most sweet girl that I'll never know.
Ignacio Jara, honey, with your love messages and support, I think that nothing had been the same.

And that's it, I danced a LOOOOT!!!! Jazz Dance, Modern, Street Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, Release Technique... and a really big etcetera.
Every day of that period I was dancing something... Was an amazing time....!

The best concert i've seen

Okay... no more procrastination...!

Let's start with this...!!!

What can I say? oooooh yeah, I have to talk about the best concert I've ever seen in my whole beautiful life....!
(yeah. I'm sure I have a gorgeous life)
So, one of my favourites bands is Radiohead and The Cranberries. (Soooo nineties!)... And both visited our country in a period of two years. 2009 and 2010.
Now, I'm going to talk about Radiohead's concert....

Oh my God Oh my God Oh my God!!
What an amazing concert!!!

I remember that I were studying my first career, so the place of the concert were just next to my university, so, start the afternoon previous to the concert with the soundproof was wonderful...!!
The concert was in "Pista atlética del Estadio Nacional" (National Stadium's Athletic Track) in April 27 of 2009. I remember like it was yesterday.
I really enjoy that concert, Radiohead is really special for me, I grew up listening their songs, and I think I have one special memory with every single song.
They started with one of the most famous songs: "Creep"... The crowd gets crazy!!!! everybody started to sing together. then, all the concert was a complete wonder.

(worst video ever)...

Welcome...!!!

Well this is a new semester, so I think that I have to write some different things about myself, even if it's all a lie because the time between first and second semester was practically none.

Oh well! (when I'm writing this, I feel myself like Harriet the Spy, Nosense hahaha)

I will start with my name, or how my mom, dad and people call me.
"Sebastian" and you can spell like
S- E-B-A-S-T-I-A-N (just doing this if you are from another really different country, kind China or Laos)
My last name is Mieres.
I'm 26 years old and I'm Aries (It's that true?, stars can define your way of life, or your personality? so...)
I'm from Santiago de Chile, a big big BIIIIG city. It's the capital of my country, but being honest, it's my entire country. (LOL)
I'm studying a bachelor in arts with major in dance, or in simple words, I'm gonna be a dancer.
I have no big expectations for this semester, just improve my general language skills, such as: grammar, writing, speaking, and specially, listening.
I think that my big weakness is listening, and my strength is writing (I love it).

Evaluating My Blog Experience

Soo...!!!
it's time to say goodbye!!!
Gooooood!!! I'm so excited to finally finish this semester!!!
What can i say?
Well considering my "Expectations for this semester's blog", I think that was a really weird semester, We had almost three months without classes. In a dancer's life, that means DEAD...!!! loose your physical practice is the same that die: your body starts to gain weight, and loose physical conditions (like strenght, flexibility, resistance, etc)

Now, let's talk about English 3!

I think that was a really good experience, I was in USA the last summer, so, this semester meant to me an opportunity to practice things that I learned in my dancing trip. I have to say that use english here is so difficult, because you have to be very correct to write, read and speak, this is just because not everybody could understand your language, and because there is a teacher watching you (LOL). About my writting skills, I think that I have improved, but i always need more (same thing when i use spanish). I usually forget how to think that i want to say/write in english, so I use the "spanish way", but with english words.
.. yeah, i know, is a big mistake.

What other topics I would like to see in the future?
Ufff a lot.
In first place: videogames, and then, Fashion.

Thank you sooo much!

Let's talk about Movies!

Movies... I dont know anybody who dislikes movies, either going to cinema or watching movies at home. Through the pass of the years, movies have evolved to show different kind of situations, stories, and and world that you'll never going to see in your whole life.

Specifically, i dont have just one favourite movie, because all the movies have something to show us, so, I'm able to say that if I want to get entertain, I will look for a movie with lots of special effects, explosions, superpowers and guys in tights. If I want to get inspired, I'll look for one from the art cinema, or a dance movie. As you can see, the movies that I prefer, will depend of the reaction that I want to reach, or the emotion that I want to feel.
I love almost every single movie, but thinking deeply, Kill Bill is the one that mixed evertyhing. a heavy story, action, blood, cartoons, good music, etc.

If  i have to choose a favourite actor or actress, i would choose two: Johnny Depp and Meryl Streep, If we put it in hollywood terms, they are such amazing actors, every single roll that they do is different, and really well played, they have the capacity of transform themselves in differents kind of peoplethe are just like a thousand people in one body.

Music...
Ok!, what can I say about music, personally, this art means almost everything to me. If I could make a summary of my life, probably would use a lot of music, of differents styles, rhythms and sounds.
When I was in my mom's belly, she start to put music for me, she said to me that everytime she did that, I started to move inside of her.
So, that was a really good reason to dance till today.
When I dance, the music is a perfect partner. Postmodern dance (and people who develop that dance style) think that music is not important, and that you can dance also without it. Yeah, Yeah! MAYBE, but for me, music, and sounds are really important, I need it because evoke moments, situations, images, people, important events, etc. and to add a meaning to my movement, is extremelly necesary those elements to perform.

My favourite band is Radiohead, Thom Yorke, Johnny Greenwood and the others, are genious, I think they are my favourite band  because their music has going been transformed just like my life. They started really Rock/pop band, then they jump to a Post Rock like psychodelic music, then, they have evolved mixing guitars with electronic music, till today, that is almost electronic music.
They are perfect to make a dance improvisation.
Just brilliant.

When Radiohead came to Chile in 2009 I was the first guy (think so) that buy tickets and wait like a "Miley Cyrus fan" for their concert. (Worst example ever).
That concert start with "Creep" the most classical song of them, and then, all the experience in my ears, and in my mind marked a Before and after in my life.
They are really good artists, a big reference to my career like a dancer.

I let you a video with one of my favourite songs.

Foodilicious...!

Oh well... Food...!
What can i say about this? I always experience a contradiction when i think in food.
When i was young, I had serious weight problems, since i was born till i was sixteen years old, i was overweight like 25 extra kilograms. (50 pounds).
So, as you could see, I'm really careful with the things that i eat. I really, REALLY! love food, and dont have problems with almost any kind of food, I try to eat lots of fruits, vegetables, dried fruits, and soy.
And no!, im not vegetarian or vegan, but i always prefer healthy food, (sometimes, but just sometimes, i eat junk food, like hamburguers, fries, ice cream, or thinks like that).
My favourite plate is pasta, specially "Lasagna". Gooood!!!!!! i looove the taste of it, the mix between tomatoes, meat, cream, cheese and different spices takes me to heaven everytime i eat it.

I know lots of recipes, i really love cooking, but i dont have enough time to practice, or cook something even for me. So, i always prepare different kind of tortillas with vegetables. I gonna show you how to cook a Chard Tortilla.

Ingredients:

3 Eggs.
1 Big chard.
1 Carrot
1 Garlic.
1/2 Onion.
Salt
Pepper.
Eneldo.
Oregano.

1. Start cleaning 5 or more leafs of chard, chop it and put in a pot with water till gets boiled. When its ready, put the leafs in a colander and wait till gets cold.
2. Chop the carrot, garlic and onion, then mix it in with the chard, eggs, and add salt, pepper, eneldo and oregano as much as you want.
3. Put a drop of olive oil in a hot frying pan (skillet) and, inmediately, add the mix giving form with a spatula and the cook it slow.
4. After a couple of minutes, turn the tortilla carefully and cook.
5. Retire the frying pan of the oven, cut and enjoy.!!

You can do tortillas with almost every vegetable..!!
Try to change chard for anything that you want.

Pina Bausch

One of the most iconic person in the dance world is this woman, Pina Bausch.
Her real name is Philippina Bausch (27 July 1940 – 30 June 2009), this german dancer, choreographer and ballet director was a pioneer in contemporary dance. She was born in the city of Solingen, Germany. She has a unique style, a special way to go inside of dance, she mixed different kind of movements, bodies, artistics forms, and proposals .She used to work with the emotions, the personal history of each dance and their own movement language in order to deliver to people a true dance, a piece from inside. She was the director of "Tanzteather Wuppertal Pina Bausch", one of the most important dance companies which performs internationally.
She created lots of choreograpfical pieces (let mw show you some of them):

"Rite of Spring" (1975)
"Seven deadly Sins" (1976)
"Café Muller" (1978)
"Masurca Fogo" (1998)
"Voldmond" (2006)
"Como el musguito en la piedra ay si si si" (2009)

I like her because she always believe thero no exist an special age, or type of body, or special conditions to be a dancer, she was not interested in showing  perfects bodies or literal histories, she was interested not in human movement in deed, she prefer to know what are the reasons that make your body move, or "what make your body to express" what you have inside.

Mystical Macchu-Picchu

Well, this picture is from my first self-funded vacation trip. We traveled (4 friends and me) through the peruvian cities of Tacna, Arequipa, Cusco, Ollantaytambo, Aguas Calientes and the citadel of Macchu Picchu, we also traveled through the Bolivian cities of La Paz, Cochabamba, Copacabana, La Isla del Sol, and Uyuni (with the biggest salt lake of the world). Then we traveled to Chile, specifically to San Pedro de Atacama.

The picture that you are seeing is from the Inca Citadel of Macchu Picchu, was taken by one of my best friends in the world, Daniela. Daniela is a really nice girl, she's a Spanish Teacher and love to read, write and travel. End of the parenthesis, LOL.

We did this trip between January and February of 2014 I dont remember the exact date, but, according with my calculation, this picture was taken in February 2nd.

I remember perfectly the feeling that I had in that moment, I felt myself in the top of the world, I felt myself so powerful, and full of energy, but at the same time, I felt myself calm, and quiet, like the perfect balance between "will and wait", thats why I love it.
I really hope to come back to that place, to see and enjoy that overwhelming landscape.

Pets... Tails and Paws!!!

Since i was a child, i've always had dogs... my mom is the responsible of my "doglover life". She was raised in a country town surrounded of lots of pets, she had cows, chickens, dogs, cats, ducks, rabbits, gooses, pigs and one horse call "Rubia" (blond in english). I think that she taught us of to be responsible of something using the pets as a tool... and the results were awesome...!

Im still living in my parents house, we have six dogs: Luna, Lucky,Princesa, Ewok, Punto, and Canela (also known as "Chica")
The history of them is sooo long, but i think that "Lucky" is my favourite one, she is the older and its the third generation of dogs. She is very sweet, pretty and obedient, she sleeps with me (in my room next to my bed, not with me in MY bed).
We have an special relationship, because she is old so she doesnt play anymore, but she loves to stay with me while im stretching, or reading... she loves the music of "Ella Fitzgerald" when i put it, she rests next to the speaker.

I know that she is old, i dont wanna immagine my life without her, i think that im gonna miss her so much...

My favourite Gadget.
Easy, my smartphone... O.M.G. what i'd do without it.!!!!???

I remember when i was younger (yeah, this sounds like "Damn, im so F@$%&ng old!!") i always said: "I think that having and using a cellphone it's no necessary... i could live without it". Since that day till today, my opinion has changed in a amazingly way.

A Smartphone is so much more than a common cellphone, you can do almost everything with it, you can see your email, social networks, use a chat service and talk with people around the world, you can read books, check news, etc.

The device that i have now, i bought it two weeks ago, just after someone stole it when i was in the bus, thats cool, cause this device is better than the other one. I remember that i fell so desperate and upset when i noticed that my cellphone was stolen, because i use it to do my dance classes, i have music, photos and videos of my work and my students. Another use is to stay in touch with people of my job, students parents and to check emails, jokes and stuffs of my social networks.

If you ask me how often i use my smartphone, i would answer... "well, in every moment..." For example now, while im writing this, I'm listening music from an app called "Spotify"... (Daaaamn its soooo good!!!!) and thats why i love it, because if i combined it with other technologies, i can optimize my time, it make my job easier, and faster.

I think that  if this little things wouldn't exist, the life of humanity would still going normally because the human being is very adaptable, we just need more time to create something that seems like, even though it means to be disconnected again from the reality that surrounds us.

Expectations

When I have to think of my expectations for this semester, I really have to say that for first time, I don't have any. Being honest with myself, I passed my whole life thinking of expectations and almost living in the future, but now, I'm just taking the opportunities that life gives to me, and seeing if they are possible to realize, if i cant do it in my 100%, i just let them go.

I'm in the third year of my career (Did I mention that I study dance?), and we are the first class that starts with the Curricular innovation, so, comparing with last year, we have so much more classes and hours of training (Modern, Contemporary, Composition, Physical Conditioning, Ballet, etc) this makes me feel so happy and excited of the skills that I'm gonna develop.

This year will be (and its being indeed) a really busy year, I'm in two universities at the same time, I have two jobs like a teacher of ballet, contemporary dance, jazz dance and traditional dances, and I'm part of a traditional dance company called Raices Latinoamericanas. I'm so excited with the work of the company, because in september we will go to Paris, France to dance for the chilean party in commemoration of the independence day.

So, thinking of my busy life, including my boyfriend, my real and truly expectation for this academic period, is just to survive. I'm gonna put all my energy on this...!

Okay... thats me.

                                                                                    So, this is my story...

Was the year 1989. I was born on a cold day of april in Santiago de Chile. I spent my first year living where my parents grow up, a tiny town called Talagante. When i was almost two years old, we had to move to Santiago, case my dad was promoted in their job.

Mom and Dad always had a beautiful relationship, a happy marriage and thats why i think that love is above everything. They grow up in really poor conditions, and they met in school. Rosa (mom) is not the typical housewife, she always tried go with us further. Buying us books, preparing us for a change, she always said "if i have to lick floors only to carry you t the university. i'll do it"...
Dad its a Rude/kind man, he entered to the army and work for the state 36 years of his life, now he is retired and still work for the army, but now like a civilian.

I have three brothers, two older and one younger. Alejandro (33), Joja (31) and Diego (17)... Alejandro is Auditor and comercial engineer, My sister is Pediatrician and Diego is in his last year of secondary.

I studies in many schools but the last one was the best. In Eleuterio Ramirez Molina school i spent 9 years, in my last year of secondary, at the age of 17, i lived in San Salvador, El Salvador. In that place i studied American English but i never finished the course because i just lived there for 1 year and wasn't enough to finish it.

Then, i entered to Metropolitan University of Educational Sciences (Pedagogico) to start my studies of Bachelor in Education. Teacher of Physical Education.

When i was studying my last year of Physical Education, i took the decision of study Bachelor in Artes with minor in Dance in the University of Chile, where now iim coursing third year.

I always loved dancing. i began at the age of 6 with traditional dances, in 2003 at the age of 14 i entered to BAFOCHI and there i discovered what is dancing in great stages. In that place i felt in love with dance and i decided to make of this passion my work for my entire life.

Then i entered to Ecos del Mundo Dance company in El Salvador. Traditional dances has allowed me to know countries like Guatemala, Honduras, Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Italia, United States and i expect to travel to France in september of 2015.

I think that my biggest hobbie, are the sports, i like to try new things and make lots of exercise but for me, this is more than a hobbie, is a way of life.
